Spencer Clarke returns for another season at The Colls, last years Vice Captain continues to work alongside Jack Greenhough and Craig Rouse’s men.
Here’s what he had to say on more appearances for Ponte and the impact of the growing fan base.
Welcome back Spencer, you’ve renewed for another year. What can we expect this coming season?
Cheers! Good to be back again, I think we became a lot more settled towards the end of last year. Then with a lot of the lads staying, plus the new lads, we should be in a good place to kick on now.
You surpassed 150 apps for The Colls, how pleasing is it to reach these personal milestones?
That was great to be fair, I didn’t think my legs had it in them so it’s good to reach 150! A great place to play footy and I’ve enjoyed every minute.
We’ve already announced some key players returning, how important is this for the squad for next year?
It’s good to see the lads coming in, obviously I’ve played with most of them and know they’re bringing plenty of experience and leadership to the side which no doubt everyone will feed off.
Since you joined the club the fan base continues to grow, how important will they be this season?
They’re going to be massive for us next season – I’ve spent many cold Tuesday nights at Ponte, so it’s great to see the fan base growing. It really does help us both home and away, the fans getting behind the lads and it was ace last year!
