We were delighted to confirm our first summer signing earlier today, as Danny Burns joins Craig Rouse’s squad.
The central defender joins
to provide strength and experience to our back line and lists Worksop Town, Sheffield FC and Stalybride Celtic as former clubs just to name a few.
We caught up with Danny to discuss his move;
Danny welcome to The Colls, tell us first how pleased you are the be joining the club and how it came about?
I’m very happy to get it all sorted and be joining the club. The gaffa got in touch with me and we had a brief chat, I then met with him and Bax for a drink and a more in depth chat and with what we spoke about it was a no brainer to sign.
We’ve played against you in recent seasons, tell us what you’ll be looking to add to the squad this season?
I’ll be looking to add some solidarity at the back, be a voice on the pitch to help my teammates around me and keep some clean sheets in order to put us up the top end of the table.
What are your goals for the coming season both personally and as a side?
My goals for the season are to help my team keep as many clean sheets as possible, so it gives us a platform for the forwards to go get the goals and win us games. Also, to be piece in the jigsaw that gets us into that top five come the business end of the season.
And finally, what would your message be to your new supporters?
I can’t wait to see you all when the first game of the season comes and let’s make our ground a fortress! Bring on next season! #UTC
