Lazenby commits to Colls

The club are delighted to confirm Jack Lazenby, as the latest player to confirm for the 21/22 season.

The midfield maestro joined mid-way through last season’s interrupted league, arriving at the club from Garforth Town. Jack impressed early on and continued that into the return of Craig Rouse and his backroom staff.

Jack possesses a lot of ability both in the attacking third and defensively, here’s what he had to say following the news;

Firstly Jack, we are really pleased to have you with us for the coming season. What made you decide to remain a Colls player for the immediate future?
Thank you. I think speaking to Rouse, Jimmy, Seedy and obviously knowing Gav from last year, it made me realise that I didn’t want to go anywhere. That this would be the best place for me to develop and learn. Also, when seeing the players that have come back to the club and having a few weeks with them showed that the environment will be a great place to be around.

For those that were unable to see you last season, tell us what type of player you are and what you bring to the team?
I like to play on the front foot and be aggressive with everything that I do. I like to try to make things happen, by getting on the ball where possible. But at the same time, I like to get stuck in and work hard for the team.

What targets will you look to set yourself personally and as a part of the squad?
My first target would be to cement my place in the team and play well. If I am doing that, then I would also look to try chip in with a few goals too. Lastly, the main target is to finish as high as possible in the league and be successful as a team.

Do you have a message to supporters ahead of the coming season?
Yeah, it would be great to see as many fans as possible down to the home games, as it’s a massive boost for the lads if we are getting good crowds. I’d also like to say a massive thank you to everyone that helped us win the Buildbase grant and looking forward to seeing everyone back soon.
