Running for The Colls

One of our own Emma Wainman is set to take on her next running challenge after running Manchester Marathon last year for Pontefract Food Hub – this time running 40 miles across the Yorkshire Wolds at the Chalkland Way Ultramarathon!

With The Colls crowdfunding efforts to raise £50k as part of our 3G Pitch and Stadia improvement plans, Emma generously has said that donations will feed directly to our efforts. To donate please click here, where you can find more about why we are raising the money.

Emma had this to say when discussing her reasons to run “On 2nd November, I will be pushing myself further than ever before by taking on the Chalkland Way Ultramarathon.

The course spans 40 miles across the Yorkshire Wolds, with nearly 4,000 feet of ascent. This is a massive challenge for me, and it will take hours to complete. I’ll even be tackling some of the miles along country lanes in the dark, with just a head torch to guide me.

But I’m doing it for a reason close to my heart – to help raise funds for Pontefract Collieries’ goal of installing a new 3G pitch and completing vital ground works at The Hunters Stadium. Every step I take is a step closer to our £50k target, ensuring that the club can continue to support over 50 teams, from juniors to seniors, and remain a place for the community to be proud of.

Please consider supporting me and The Colls as we aim to improve our facilities and take the club to the next level.

All Colls aren’t we!”

An amazing gesture and an amazing feat to complete, we wish her the very best of luck and I’m sure everyone will agree with us 💙
