Young Centre Back Callum Brook was among the retained players, who will form part of Craig Rouse’s squad for next season. We sat discuss his first season in Non League football and his experiences gained, here’s what he had to say.
Welcome back Cal, you joined last year and featured a number of times across the season. How did you find your first season at The Colls?
My first season at Ponte was a great experience for me as a young player, the lads and and management team were class with me and helped me settle in perfectly in my first season in non league football.
You played in some huge games, including ties against FC Halifax Town in the FA Cup. How do you think those experiences have helped you as a player?
The whole of the FA Cup run from the earlier rounds, all the way to the Halifax game were a great experience for me in my first season. That experience at Halifax, playing in front of an unbelievable away following, can only make me better and kick on as a player.
What are your plans for next season and are you looking to build on the appearances made last year?
As for next season, I do want to kick on again as I feel I did at the back end of last season and try and get some more appearances for myself. But more importantly to help the club kick on and really push to go one better than we did last year.
