There was no game over the weekend just gone due to our opposition awarding us the three points in our final Cup Group Match.
The lads have gone through the group unbeaten with a record of Played six won five, Drawn once. The lads put on some outstanding performances against some quality teams in the likes of Gateshead FC Academy, where they won 3-2 away and 5-2 at home in a convincing win. A very strong York City side came to the Regional Electrical Services Stadium and went away with a point after a entertaining game which ended 4-4.
Manager Danny Charlotte said “I personally thought the best was saved till last” when they travelled over to York and found themselves 4-2 down at halftime and then 5-4 down with six minutes remaining, to then some how go on to win 6-5. The joys of football!
Credit must go to all the lads for the way they work hard for each other and for their never give in attitude… It’s like they never know when they’re beat! The football on show as been great to watch.
After losing a few players from last season, Danny Charlotte said “I’d like to say how pleased I am with all our new additions and they’ve all slotted in nicely with our regulars and are now adapting to the Ponte way of playing. I’m really proud of all their efforts over the past few month and after our week off we will be back in training as normal this Thursday”. They will be getting ready for their first league seeding game, at home Vs Allskills Elite u16s this coming Saturday 30th which will be played at Stadium with a 12:00pm kick off.
If you’ve nothing on feel free to come down and cheer the lads on in what should be a game packed with goals.
