We can confirm that Jack Shepherd has joined League One club Barnsley FC following the completion of a deal, which sees the club hold a significant sell on clause and the EFL side will send a Barnsley XI to us in preseason as part of the agreement.
Jack had spent the last two years at the club and has grown from strength to strength, culminating in this move to the professional game. Joining The Colls back in September 2021 – where he signed from Penistone Church – before going on to make his debut in the FA Trophy against Yorkshire Amateurs at left back. By the end of the season he had settled at centre half and was even donned a “Young Maldini” by the home faithful.
His first full season saw him cement his position as a key part of our side, with many big performances and even chipped in with three goals himself. A young lad that impressed defensively and when bringing the ball out from the back, he will be missed but we wish him and his family the best of luck!
Thanks to Barnsley FC for their cooperation in this deal. This deal shows what kind of environment the club has become for young players working under a management team, that genuinely want the best for every single player.
