Colls confirm arrival of Porritt

Last night we confirmed the capture of versatile player Adam Porritt, from last years league champions Liversedge FC. Adam can play either at full back or in midfield so will provide more depth to our squad for the coming season.

Adam came through the Huddersfield Town academy, before having spells at Lincoln United, Harrogate Town and Farsley Celtic. He later joined Ossett Albion – who later merged to form Ossett United where we first met Adam as an opposing player. He then featured for Tadcaster Albion before joining Liversedge.

We caught up with Adam on his signing, here is what he had to say;

Welcome to the club Adam, what was it that excited you about joining The Colls?

I think what excites me the most is seeing the squad that we’ve got going into this season and I believe play offs should be a minimum expectation for us If we do as well as were capable of. Then who doesn’t want to be playing in those important games come the business end of the season.

You’ve played against Ponte in the past for a number of rival sides, how would you describe what it is like playing against The Colls?

Its always been very tough games to be honest, regardless of which side I’ve played for previously. Teams expect a direct, physical battle and high intensity from start to finish when playing Ponte, It works and it’s hard to play against.

You enjoyed a league and cup double last year, what can you take from last years experience to bring to The Colls?

Last year was a very good and successful year being at Liversedge, the togetherness on and off the pitch within the group even when things weren’t going how we wanted was what won a lot of games for us and ultimately won us the league going head to head with Marske, so hopefully that’s something we can replicate here this season and be there or there abouts by the end of it.

And finally, do you have a message for your new supporters ahead of the coming season?

To the supporters, I’m very excited to get going at Ponte hopefully it will be an exciting season for us all, Up The Colls!
