Free for Free School Meal Children
As we believe the club is at the heart of the local community, we want to help our community as much as we can. Covid-19 has placed those already under pressure under even more stress.
In a joint operation with St Giles Food Share we will help those that are more disadvantaged in our area to enjoy the same things as those that are more fortunate. We do not believe we should turn anyone away so would want include anyone that wants to be included, especially siblings. The project will have a family focus, promoted by provision of the means to make a family meal at the end of each day.
We will be working with the following partners on this project:
Monkhill Sandwiches – for the lunch packs.
St Giles Food Share – packing and distribution of ingredients for a 2-course meal which will promote healthy eating for each family to take home and enjoy at the end of each day. Young Minds Matter – for the arts and crafts activities.
Physical activities will include football, rounder’s, touch rugby and dance (some adapted for those with additional needs). These will promote healthy activities with the children. Creative arts & crafts activities will include painting (on paper and murals), a variety of paper crafts – all to be taken home.
These will brighten up the family homes and teach the children how to be creative.
We also intend to provide gardening/construction activities such as building planters and then planting flowers and/or fruit and vegetables and inviting the participants to look after these.
