We can confirm the schedule for the upcoming preseason, for Craig Rouse and his men. After the summer break the last will return to training in June before the July return with the following friendlies.
We will host a number of home fixtures in which supporters WILL be able to attend (Subject to COVID guidelines at the time). We begin our preseason schedule 3rd July (3pm KO) at The Regional Electrical Services Stadium, where we will host NCEL Division One side Rossington Main. Last preseason we were defeated by Rossington, so this should be a good test for the lads.
Then it is the turn of Selby Town to visit our Beechnut Lane home, who will also be in the NCEL Division One next season. This has become a regular fixture in recent years gone by, which has always seen a good battle between the two sides. Selby visit The Colls on the 10th July for a 3pm KO.
Three days later (13th July, 7:45pm KO) we host Hemsworth Miners Welfare in a local derby. The last time the two teams faced off was when Ponte were promoted from the NCEL Premier Division, the league in which Hemsworth currently play in. Former player Luke Danville is now in the dugout as manager for the visitors.
The Bill Cook Memorial Trophy renewal is hosted at our Regional Electrical Services Ltd Stadium (Friday 23rd July, 7:45pm KO). We host Glasshoughton in the annual renewal, in memory of local man Bill Cook. This fixture has limited free tickets available, so make sure you visit our shop to secure yours before they run out.
Currently our only away fixture in preseason sees a trip west to Mossley AFC. Mossley will play in next seasons NPL North West League, the equivalent to our North East league. This should be a good test between two strong Northern Premier Leagues sides.
We are hoping to confirm one final friendly on the 7th August to round off our preparations for the new season, once confirmed we will advertise accordingly.
