Forward Luke Hinsley was retained as part of Craig Rouse’s striking options for this coming season. We caught us with Luke to discuss his return and targets for next year, here’s what he had to say;
Welcome back Luke, heading into your first preseason with Ponte looking back on last season, how do you think it went?
I think last season we ended on a positive to build for this season ahead of us. The aim was to stay in the league when I joined and then finish as high as we could giving the start that we had.
You joined the club at a time we were struggling in the league and played a part in turning the form around. What can we expect from the current squad next season?
The squad we ended the season with and the new additions that the Gaffa has brought in, I think we will be pushing for those play offs 100%.
You were able to chip in with a few goals since your arrival is that something you’re looking to add to this campaign?
I chipped in with a few, but every striker loves scoring goals of course. But it doesn’t really matter who scores, it’s those 3 points on the board that what it’s all about.
Finally, what are your targets for this coming season?
I have my own personal targets but I think everyone at the club, players and management the target is nothing less than playoffs for Ponte next year.
