On a fresh autumnal morning Pontefract Collieries faced a strong Askern Miners side, with flashes of good football on display from both sides.
In a one-sided first-half, Pontefract struggled to get into the game, but the performance and determination was far better in the second-half, with three very good goals capping a fine third-quarter. The final quarter was also an even affair, with both sides going close to adding to their totals. Once again, the game was played in good spirits amongst players, coaches and parents.
The Askern coach was incredibly complimentary of our lads’ football ability and behaviour at full time. Well done to all of those involved, and we’ll keep going onwards and upwards. UTC!
