The hard tackling, defensive minded player becomes the eight player to make his Colls return this summer. Like a number of the squad Scott featured for Worksop Town last year, before the season was curtailed.
Scott Brown first joined Ponte the season the club won the NCEL Premier Division, he most recently featured for the Colls in the 19/20 season and scored the winning goal in the home game against Tadcaster Albion.
Scott featured in our mid season fixtures scoring a couple of goals from set pieces and will be another good addition to Craig Rouse’s squad.
We caught up with the man himself to discuss his return to his hometown side…
Welcome back mate, how pleased are you to be back at The Colls?
I’m very happy to be back at Ponte. I am just ready for a challenging pre season and hopefully a successful season with the lads.
You enjoyed a good mid season run of games and scored a few goals, how did you find being back around the group?
It was great being back involved in football in general really it was great, to get a run of games together is always a plus before pre season, especially as a new group. It will also help us going forward with how we are wanting to play.
Are you looking forward to returning in preseason with fans back in the ground?
I can’t wait for the first game in pre season, and I’m sure all the boys are the same. To see some of the familiar faces down at the ground, it will be like old times. A bit of normality back into our lives after a rough year or so.
Finally with the teams confirmed for next year are there any games you’re particularly looking forward to?
There are going to be some tough games this season, with the re structure of the leagues. But I’m sure i’m not the only one who will say this, but Worksop has got to be the big one. They have a few familiar faces from coaching staff to players, so hopefully be a good atmosphere down here and it’ll be a great game.
