This week we confirmed that – last seasons Player’s Player of the Year, Manager’s Player of the Year and Committee Player of the Year – Harry Spratt has been named Vice Captain.
After a sterling first year at The Colls Harry is looking to push on this season and we spoke to the man himself to discuss his new role and the season ahead;
Congratulations as being named Vice Captain for the season ahead, tell us what it means to be trusted with this new responsibility?
Thanks, I’m happy that ‘Rousey’ and the coaching staff have given me this role, for me it’s just carrying on doing what I do and as a team setting standards on and off the pitch.
After the season you had last year, what are you looking for from the coming season?
Last year I felt that we under achieved, with the team we had and the position we found ourself in at Christmas. However, this year I believe we have a stronger squad and we should be challenging towards the top end of the table.
A number of new faces in the squad, what are you thoughts on the team heading into the first game?
Yes, the management team have added some good additions to the squad and everyone has fitted in well and everyone is looking forward to getting going Saturday in the FA Cup. The last few years the club have done well in the competition, so we are aiming to replicate that.
Finally, what’s your message to the fans for the season ahead?
Come get behind the lads as you always do, we appreciate your support! We hope to repay that by winning football matches this year and having a successful season.
